” I saw a guy at Starbucks today. No iPhone, no tablet, no laptop. He just sat there. Drinking Coffee. Like a Psychopath.” Unknown.
Good Evening Everyone. I found the above quote to reflect my cynical sense of humor I have developed over the years as a licensed clinical social worker in the mental health field. Over the years, I have worked with many quirky and crazy professionals such as Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social Workers and Nurses who were often crazier than the patients they served. I have witnessed some hilarious behavior, dealt with peculiar personalities and seen many bizarre events. These experiences inspired me to pen two novels capturing the zany personalities of my colleagues and the crazy and unbelievable events that took place. I would like to introduce you to my latest novel, “Three Sheets In The Wind” a sequel to my previous novel published in March 2017, “The Cat on Salter’s Point.” These stories will not only make you laugh, but keep you on the edge of your seat from the beginning to the end. With that in mind, let me give you a little synopsis on each novel.
“The Cat on Salter’s Point” The Cat on Salter’s Point is a story of a young social worker, Rachel Thomas, who embarks on a crazy adventure when she accepts her first social worker job at Salter’s Point Regional Hospital, a psychiatric facility outside of Seattle. On her first day, a suicidal patient mysteriously disappears from the hospital. Doctor George Benny, who works there, is the patient’s lover and is suspected in her disappearance. Rachel befriends Jamie Lee, an alcoholic social worker at the facility. The two of them, suspicious of the doctor, find a way to connect him to the patient’s disappearance. Amid unraveling this mystery, Rachel discovers her ex-lover Ray is having an affair with Jamie’s lover, Anne. This sends Rachel on an emotional roller coaster ride. She struggles with her anger and whether she should tell Jamie. Then tragedy strikes, turning her life upside down. The friendship between these two women and how they cope with the daily challenges and craziness around them, is the central core of this character-driven novel.
